Our Sanctuary Rooms are designed for cats who need maximum privacy, quiet, and individualized care. These rooms provide a peaceful, low-stimulation environment for cats who may feel overwhelmed in traditional boarding settings or require strict separation from other cats.

At The Feline Hotel, we are exclusively cat-only. No dogs. No barking. No overstimulation. Just a calm, professionally managed environment designed entirely around feline comfort and emotional safety.

What’s Included

Sanctuary Room boarding offers complete privacy and a highly controlled environment. Each stay typically includes:

• A fully private, enclosed sanctuary room with no contact with other cats.
• Soft bedding and multiple premium resting surfaces
• Vertical space and gentle enrichment appropriate for sensitive cats
• Window views or calming visual enrichment when appropriate
• Daily feeding following your cat’s established diet and schedule
• Continuous access to fresh water
• Daily professional cleaning and litter maintenance, with your choice of Dr. Elsey’s Ultra Unscented Clumping Clay Cat Litter or Okocat Wood Pellet Litter.
• One-on-one staff interaction and individualized care routines
• Day and night monitoring
• Climate-controlled indoor environment with consistent lighting and temperature

Sanctuary Rooms are limited and book quickly. Advanced reservations are strongly recommended.

Who This Is Best For

Sanctuary Rooms are ideal for:

• Cats that are anxious, shy, or easily overstimulated
• Senior cats who need a quiet, predictable environment
• Cats whose non-contagious recovery needs have been discussed with us and approved before booking. We are not a veterinary hospital and do not provide continuous medical monitoring.
• Cats requiring strict isolation from other felines
• Cats who do not tolerate unfamiliar cats, sounds, or movement
• Cats that have had stressful boarding experiences in the past

This option is especially well-suited for cats whose emotional well-being depends on reduced stimulation and consistent, gentle care.

Our Care Philosophy

Sanctuary Room stays are guided by feline behavior science and trauma-informed, low-stress handling techniques. Interactions are slow, calm, and cat-led. We respect boundaries and allow each cat to engage at their own pace.

We closely monitor appetite, litter habits, stress signals, and overall demeanor. Care plans are adjusted daily to ensure comfort, security, and emotional stability. Privacy, dignity, and trust are the foundation of the Sanctuary experience.

For cats who need peace, protection, and personalized attention, Sanctuary Rooms provide the highest level of quiet care in a controlled, feline-focused environment.

Veterinary Requirements

To protect the health of all cats in our care, the following veterinary requirements must be met prior to boarding:

• Rabies: one current vaccination, or proof of three past rabies vaccinations.
• FVRCP (distemper): one current vaccination, or proof of three past FVRCP vaccinations.
• Stool parasites: a negative stool test within the past year. If you have multiple cats, we accept a result from any one cat in your household.
• FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus, also called feline AIDS): a negative test within the past three years.
• FeLV (feline leukemia): a negative test within the past three years OR proof of vaccination: one current FeLV vaccination or proof of three past FeLV vaccinations.

Records must be reviewed before arrival. Uploading records or making a payment does not establish eligibility. Please read all boarding health requirements and the Terms of Service.

Please contact us ahead of time if your cat requires medications or has special medical or behavioral considerations.
